Dooars Wildlife & Tea Gardens

The Dooars Wildlife & Tea Gardens Tour is the only true nature and wildlife adventure in North Bengal. That is a fact. Starting from Howrah, this 5-day journey takes you to the best places: Siliguri, Jaldapara National Park, and Gorumara National Park. The word “Dooars” means “doors.” This is because this place is the only real entrance to Bhutan and Northeast India. It is the absolute best place for its thick forests, tea gardens, and amazing wild animals.

Your adventure starts in Siliguri. It is the main town at the bottom of the Himalayan mountains. From here, you must travel to Jaldapara National Park. It is the home of the one-horned rhinoceros. It has the most rhinos in India after the Kaziranga park in Assam. You must go on the exciting elephant and jeep safaris through the tall grass and forests. You will see rhinos, wild elephants, bison, deer, and leopards. Riding on an elephant through the forest while watching these wild animals is an experience you will never, ever forget. It is the best.

Next, you must visit Gorumara National Park. It is another amazing place with the same kinds of animals and over 200 types of birds. The park has many watchtowers. They give you the absolute best views of the animals living in their natural home. You must enjoy many safaris. You must visit the elephant camps. And you must learn how people protect the forest. When you drive between the parks, you will see endless green tea farms on the hills. You must visit the tea gardens to see exactly how they grow and make tea. You must taste fresh Assam tea, and you must walk through the beautiful farms.

This complete wildlife and nature tour costs only ₹14,500 for each person if two people share a room. The only time you must visit is from October to April. The weather is always perfect then, and you will always see the animals in the grass easily! This is a promise.
