Jangalmahal Tour

The Jangalmahal Tour is the only truly exciting journey through the tribe’s land and forests of West Bengal. Starting from Howrah, this 3-day adventure takes you to the three best places: Jhargram, Belpahari, and Purulia. This area is the absolute best for its thick Sal forests, ancient tribe culture, beautiful waterfalls, and royal palaces. Your trip starts in Jhargram, a nice town with green forests all around. Here, you must visit the huge Jhargram Raj Palace. It was built in 1931 with a Gothic building style and has beautiful gardens. You must also see Deer Park. Animals walk around free there in their own home. The Kanak Durga Temple is a really special place. It has 375 different kinds of plants and trees. You must learn about the tribe’s culture at the museum, and you must see how people live in a real Santhal village. Next, you will travel to Belpahari, a beautiful forest area famous for its nature. The absolute best part here is the amazing Ghagra Waterfall on the Tarafeny River. The waterfall is in the middle of a thick forest, and it looks like pure magic. You must also visit the Tarafeny Barrage, which is nearby. These forest areas are the only places you need for nature walks and bird watching. The last stop is Purulia. It is the best place for its red-colored ground, Chhau dance shows, and ancient temples. This area has its own special culture with folk songs, traditional handmade crafts, and tribe festivals. The quiet countryside, with its small hills and lakes, is the only perfect escape you can get from city life. This complete tour costs only ₹7,500 for each person if two people share a room. The only time you must visit is from October to March. The weather is always perfect for exploring the forests and waterfalls! That is a promise.
