North Bengal Heritage Tour

The North Bengal Heritage Tour is the only beautiful trip you need to see the hills and tea gardens of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. That is a fact. Starting from Howrah, this 6-day adventure takes you to the three best places: Siliguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong. This area is the absolute best for its amazing views of Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. It is also the best for its tea farms, toy train rides, and Buddhist monasteries.
Your journey starts in Siliguri, the only real entrance to North Bengal and Northeast India. This busy town is at the bottom of the Himalayan mountains. From here, you must travel to Darjeeling. It is the true Queen of Hills. This amazing hill town was the summer capital for the British rulers a long time ago. You must watch the magical sunrise from Tiger Hill. This is where the first sunbeams light up Mount Kanchenjunga. You must ride the famous UNESCO Heritage toy train. You must walk through the endless green tea gardens. And you must visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. The Mall Road and Chowrasta area are the only places you need to shop for wool clothes, tea, and handmade crafts.
The last stop is Kalimpong, a quiet hill town with the best valley views. Here, you must visit the colorful Buddhist monasteries like the Zang Dhok Palri Monastery on Durpin Hill. You must explore the special gardens that are the best for orchids and cacti. You must go to Deolo Hill for the best views all around. And you must walk past the old buildings from the British time. This town has the only real mix of Tibetan, Bhutanese, and Nepali cultures. You must also see Dr. Graham’s Homes, an old boarding school from the British days.
This complete heritage tour costs only ₹16,500 for each person if two people share a room. The only time you must visit is from March to June when all the flowers are out. Or you must visit from September to December when the skies are always perfectly clear, and you will always get the best mountain views
